Weather conditions -
Partly cloudy.
Air temp - high 60's.
Wind -gusty from the north east.
Barometric pressure - 30.11 steady (at 1:00 pm).
Water temp - Main
lake 65 degrees. Main area fished - 66 degrees.
Water clarity - Main lake clear. Area fished - stained.
Depth fished - 0 to 3 feet.
Area fished - Wildasin flats (back end of area below the second bridge).
Best baits:
Spinnerbait
- 3/8 oz Chartruse, green, black & white with large gold willow blade &
silver colorado.
Other baits used:
Crankbait - FLW medium depth White and Chartruse.
Tube bait - Cabin Creek green with red flake rigged texas style with a Northland
"Buck-shot" Double Claw rattle. (click
to see pic).
Fish caught - 4
- 2 on spinnerbait, 1 on crankbait, 1 on tube.
Average size - 10".
Largest - 12".
Additional notes - The smallest bass I caught was on the crankbait which was too large for him to get in his mouth! (click to see pic). I've fished this area in the past with the same success as I've had at Marburg flats. I think maybe the cooler weather has moved the fish into deeper water. I don't think there has been a spawn yet, water is too cool. Full moon is June 5th.
Remember... "they call it fishing, but the goal is catching."
