Installation of AVG version 8.5 Antivirus Downloading and Installation Instructions Added 3/28/09

File Downloading and Installing instructions:

1. When you click on the link in the email, a File Download window will appear:

2. Click on the RUN button in the window. After you click the RUN button, it will take several minutes for the download to complete. The file is about 60 MB so it will take several minutes. Just be patient and wait for the download to complete.

AFTER the download is complete, the window below will appear BRIEFLY then disapear:

3. Next, the Welcome Screen will Appear. It should already show ENGLISH in the window,
so all you need to do is click the NEXT button to continue.

4. The ACCEPTANCE NOTICE window will appear. You MUST click on the ACCEPT button to continue.

5. Next the LICENCE AGREEMENT window will appear.
As in the previous window, you MUST click the ACCEPT box to continue.

6. The next window to appear is the CHECKING SYSTEM STATUS window.
You do not need to take any action here. Just let it run until the next window appears.

7. If you have AVG version 7.0 or 7.5 installed, The next window to appear will inform you that it will uninstall the old version of the program. Just click the NEXT button to contunue.

8. The next window gives you the option to choose the type of installation you perfer.
The STANDARD INSTALLATION is selected by default, and is the one you should choose.
Just click on the NEXT button to continue.

9. The next window is for the AVG SECURITY TOOLBAR. You DO NOT NEED THIS!
The YES box has a checkmark in the box by default. You should UNCHECK it.
Uncheck the option by clicking on the box. The checkmark should dissapear as shown below.
Then click NEXT to continue.

10. FINALLY, the installation will begin!
Allow the installation to continue until it completes and the next window appears.

11. The program installation portion of AVG 8.5 is complete when you see the window below.
Click the OK button... BUT.... You are not finished. Go down to step #12.

12. AFTER you click the OK button in the above window,
you will have a new set of windows to follow. These next windows are the
steps required to help you setup the program configuration correctly for your computer.

Close out this file and open the second file named: "AVG FREE 8.5 AE Configuration Inst".
